BSBI is thrilled to welcome Rabbi Yosef and Rivka Bart to our community!

Rabbi Bart graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Accounting, from Yeshiva University’s Sy Syms School of Business. He completed his Masters in Secondary Jewish Education from the David J. Azrieli Graduate Institute of Jewish Education and received his Rabbinic Ordination from the YU Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary in 1995. He also has completed Ohr Sameach’s two-year Ohr Lagolah training program in Israel for Jewish Education, the Rabbinate, and Outreach.

After several years of study in Israel, Rabbi Bart joined the staff of Congregation B’nai Brith Jacob in Savannah where he worked as an educator, youth director, and assistant to the Rabbi. He served as the Rabbi of Young Israel of Richmond-Kol Emes from 1998-2001, simultaneously working as a teacher and program director in the Rudlin Torah Academy (RTA). He then relocated to Texas and the Robert M. Beren Academy in Houston, where he taught grades 1,3,5, and High School. In 2003 he returned to Richmond, serving as Assistant Principal of RTA and Rebbe in the Yeshiva of Virginia through 2013, and as Principal of RTA from 2013-2022. Rabbi Bart is currently the Director of the Richmond Jewish learning Experience which offers learning for Jews of every level of background and interest.

Mary Campbell is a dedicated and passionate professional committed to the non-profit sector, with a strong academic foundation and over two decades of experience in non profits. Graduating Cum Laude from Troy University with a Bachelor's degree in Social Science and Psychology, Mary's academic journey ignited her enduring dedication to making a meaningful impact on the community.

Since 2013, Mary has been an indispensable part of the Brith Sholom Beth Israel (BSBI) Congregation, where her role as Executive Director reflects her deep commitment to community. In this capacity, Mary has played a pivotal role in securing funding for various initiatives, demonstrating her proficiency in crafting compelling proposals and her unwavering dedication to advancing the congregation's goals.

Beyond her professional achievements, Mary's personal life is marked by a strong and enduring partnership with her husband, Jason Campbell, a retired US Air Force veteran, for 28 years. Together, they have raised three children and now revel in the joys of being grandparents.
