Message From The President

Greetings from your Synagogue, BSBI, and our new website.  This has been a long time coming.

This upgrade will make many interactions much easier for members and visitors alike.  For our members, finding and changing details on your account can be done directly from this site.  Simply click "My Account" along the horizontal categories and follow the easy-to-use prompts to change contact information, manage yahrtzeits, see your billing details and to make payments.  Likewise, to make donations such as "In honor of" and "In memory of" for the weekly bulletin, click "Donate" and follow the prompts.

While 2020 and into 2021 was a very difficult times for all of us and included our having to halt in-person services for a period of time, we are now not only back in person, but also our mask policy has recently eased given new directives from the CDC.  Anyone who has received both vaccination shots (or the single J&J version) does not need to wear a mask, however those not vaccinated still need to wear a mask.  This is for the safety of all present.

We have just completed the joyous Shavuos Yom Tov and the 5781 continues to speed ahead.  Yes, it seems as if we just completed Pesach, Purim before and even the High Holidays.  Soon we will see the month of Elul and 5782 over the time horizon.  We look forward to Rabbi Admon leading our services once again.

While we had to cease services and events for a period of time, we restarted with procedures to ensure a safe environment. Daily and Shabbos minyanim continue with regularity which also allows anyone to say Kaddish. Rabbi Hoberman continues to give a weekly class in current Halakhic issues both in person and over Zoom. This has included the very topical subjects of vaccines and distribution of vaccines. Please join in with instructions and click-throughs in our weekly-emailed Buzz.

We have much to offer in programming and upcoming events.  The Rabbi is holding weekly classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and also a half hour before mincha on Shabbos.  Given the lateness of the beginning of Shabbos during the Summer, we will continue our monthly Friday pickup dinners.  We do look forward to our large and in-person Friday night dinners returning in the Fall.

In the near term,  we have another Bar Mitzvah and a very special birthday celebration.  The former is listed on our homepage and under "Upcoming Events".  Stay tuned for the latter!

In conclusion, we are family and we are here for you. Please contact us for any needs. We look forward to seeing everyone soon and socializing again with our regular camaraderie.
